Job description

About The Role :

The Senior Software Asset Officer will facilitate the procurement of

software and manage the contractual obligations in relation to software.

They will actively manage the delivery of Software Products, Licensing,

Support and Maintenance for products.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Management of the SAM Tool
  • Deployment and tracking of software.
  • Adding software assets to the SAM Tool.
  • Management of licensing and support.
  • Production of SAM reports.
  • Analysis of licensing usage.
  • Analysis of assets deployed.
  • Conducts audits / stocktakes.
  • Ensure continuity of software licenses required for COSPO products.
  • Undertaking vendor compliance reviews (with guidance from the Software Maintenance Officer)
  • Analysing software licensing data (with guidance from the Software Maintenance Officer)
  • Reading and interpreting EULAs (with guidance from the Software Maintenance Officer)
  • Some CMDB and / or Software Discovery Tool configuration (with guidance from the Software Maintenance Officer)
  • Providing guidance to the wider project on governance, internal processes & software licensing
  • Communicating effectively with technical teams and stakeholders.
    • About You :
  • Essential :

Software Licensing / Asset management.

  • Employment of enterprise licensing agreements.
  • Experience with asset management tools.
  • Management of assets (EOL, support and maintenance).
  • Experience using CMDBs to manage software.
  • Software vendor management and negotiation
  • Certified SAFe Practitioner
  • Desirable :

    • Diploma of Information Technology Asset Management or equivalent.

  • Qualifications in Project Management.
  • Qualification in Systems Engineering
  • Australian Government and / or Defence experience.
  • Demonstrated ability in managing projects, risks and issues, budgets and schedules.
