Assistant Director Financial - Operations

We're looking for a skilled and confident leader to manage financial operations and support a high-performing team across Treasury, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Travel.In this role, you'll report to the Director of Financial Operations, provide expert financial advice, and oversee day-to-day activities across key finance functions.Key Responsibilities : Oversee financial operations across multiple areasLead, supervise and support a small finance teamProvide expert advice and technical knowledge in accountingInterpret and apply financial legislation and policy to resolve moderately complex issuesBuild strong relationships and respond to internal and external enquiriesManage and prioritise team workloads, ensuring quality and timelinessUse financial systems (e.g.

CBMS, TechnologyOne, Excel) to analyse and reconcile dataMaintain and update policies and procedures, and lead process improvementsPrepare and approve end-of-month tasks such as : ReconciliationsJournalsExecutive and management reportingWhat we're looking for : Proven experience in financial operations managementStrong leadership, analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent understanding of Australian Government financial legislation and compliance (e.g.
