Description
WAIS is looking for a dedicated Strength and Conditioning Coach to help athletes build the physical capabilities needed to excel and reach their performance goals within our Athletics and Individual Athlete Sport Programs, including some para sports. This position is full time, 37.5 hours per week, maximum term until December with the potential to extend.

Role Overview :
As a Strength and Conditioning Coach, some key duties include :
- Coach athletes to achieve physical performance standards for Pinnacle Event podium finishes and / or senior team graduation, per program objectives.
- Track and monitor progress against physical training variables, providing objective data to inform decisions.
- Take responsibility for strength and conditioning plans within assigned sport programs, ensuring athletes are developed with a Win Well ethos.
- Support the Strength and Conditioning Lead to drive practice standards across the organisation.
About you :
You are committed to upholding Australia’s High Performance WinWell pledge putting athlete wellbeing at the forefront of your role.You have an Undergraduate degree in Exercise, Movement, Sport Science or a related field and an Australian Strength and Conditioning Association (ASCA) Professional Coach Level 2.You have at least 3 years’ experience of providing strength and conditioning support in high-performance environments, preferably with Olympic / Paralympic sports.You are experienced in coaching and enhancing a range of physical attributes, specifically strength, speed, agility, and power required for success in assigned sports.You have the ability to design and implement scientifically based, age-appropriate training programs tailored to optimise individual athletes development against specific sport requirements.You are able to apply testing protocols, monitor training progress, and interpret / report data to target audiences.You collaborate effectively in high-performance, interdisciplinary teams; prioritising team goals, solving problems through constructive debate, and applying lessons to enhance future successYou have a proven ability to work and deliver high-performance results under pressure.You set high-performance standards for yourself and others, taking responsibility and accountability for tasks.You have or are able to attain a Working with Children Check and National Police Criminal History check.You are a genuine team player that cares about others and always acts with kindness and integrity.Essential Requirements
