Job description

The Senior Business Analyst will be assigned to IT service transition / migration projects as a priority and will be required to ensure that all project deliverables adhere to the frameworks and standards with little / no interruption to business delivery.

Whilst all Senior Business Analysts operate within a Community of Practice, and can work across multiple projects in the portfolio, the key current priority is Operational Readiness.

Must be Australian citizen and have the ability to obtain Baseline Security Clearance.

Hybrid role working 3 days per week in the office

Position Specific Core Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, assess, and document readiness gaps across people, process, and technology.
  • Elicit and document requirements to support the delivery of business-as-usual (BAU) capability at go-live.
  • Facilitate workshops to validate operational requirements, including SOPs, SLAs, RACI models, and escalation procedures.
  • Support the development of operational use cases and service scenarios for testing and simulations for rehearsals.
  • Analyse and map current and future state operational workflows to ensure seamless transition into BAU.
  • Contribute to the development and validation of business readiness checklists, vendor maturity levels, and success criteria.

Data & Insights

  • Help define key operational metrics, and reporting needs to enable post-implementation monitoring.
  • Translate operational KPIs and RTO / RPO into actionable reporting requirements for BAU teams.
  • Change & Operational Support

  • Partner with Change Managers to assess and document operational impacts across business units.
  • Identify training, communication, and documentation needs to support service handover and ongoing operations.
  • Track operational readiness activities and their alignment with project milestones and transition gates.
  • Compliance, Systems and Reporting

  • Align business analysis activities to industry best practice process
  • Stakeholder engagement and business analysis for the ENMP to understand the business needs as they relate to project delivery.

  • Monitoring progress of project work packages, deliverables and products,
  • Identify and report on risk and issues impacting service delivery and program performance
  • Developing documentation and support materials that clearly outline the expected outcomes, and identifying the people, processes, and tools required to successfully deliver desired outcomes.
  • Required

  • Must be Australian citizen and have the ability to obtain Baseline Security
  • Demonstrable experience engaging with geologically diverse project teams
  • High attention to detail and capable of delivering a high level of accuracy
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills (e.g., BPMN, process modelling, business requirements, functional specs).
  • Experience supporting ITSM or service transition projects (e.g., ITIL4-aligned initiatives, CMDB / Asset Mgmt., tool transitions).
  • Familiarity with service management platforms (e.g., ServiceNow) and how they enable operational readiness.
  • Proven ability to engage stakeholders from frontline teams to executive sponsors.
  • Experience in environments undergoing digital transformation, new service deployment, or critical cutovers.
  • Desirable

  • Certification in BABOK (or an ability to demonstrate a deep level of understanding in business analysis methodologies)
  • Proficient working with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Demonstrable experience regarding analytical thinking and problem solving
