The Assistant Accountant is responsible for the monthly reporting of financial and non-financial information to the Financial Controller, Regional Directors and CEO.Two further key parts of the role are the creation and sending of client invoices, as well as overdue accounts collection.

Responsibilities

  • Creating and sending invoices using Synergy and Xero financial accounting systems
  • Debtor collection - Collecting the overdue accounts by contacting clients and manage AR enquiries
  • Responsible for the setup, configuration, and ongoing management of client and invoicing portals
  • Managing budget resolutions in Synergy and assisting with any Synergy-related inquiries
  • Daily cash flow reporting and bank reconciliation
  • Assisting with month-end and year-end processing, including preparation of monthly financial and non-financial reports
  • Answering and directing incoming phone calls nationally
  • Other finance or admin tasks as directed

  • Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field
  • Working towards a professional accounting qualification such as CA or CPA
  • Advanced computer software skills (Microsoft Excel, Words, PowerPoint, Teams) and other financial software (XERO and Total Synergy) as well as tools for reporting and analysis purposes (PowerBi)
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Process and deadline driven mindset with a keen eye for detail
  • Demonstrated high level of verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong personal integrity, credibility and ability to work collaboratively in a values-driven organisation.
