We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Nursing Assistants to join our Aged Care Agency in Australia. As a Nursing Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to elderly residents. Your primary responsibility will be to assist the nursing and healthcare team in ensuring the physical, emotional, and social well-being of our residents.
- Key Responsibilities
- Personal Care
- Provide assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Mobility Support
- Assist residents with mobility, including transferring them from beds to wheelchairs or other seating arrangements.
- Monitoring Vital Signs
- Regularly check and record residents' vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Assist with Meals
- Help residents with meal preparation, feeding, and ensuring they have proper nutrition.
- Emotional Support
- Offer emotional support and companionship to residents, engaging in friendly conversations and activities to enhance their quality of life.
- Housekeeping
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks, such as maintaining a clean and safe environment for residents.
- Documentation
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of resident care, observations, and any changes in their condition.
- Communication
- Collaborate effectively with the nursing and healthcare team, residents' families, and other staff members to ensure comprehensive care.
- Safety
- Follow all safety protocols and infection control measures to protect the health and well-being of residents and colleagues.
- Qualifications
- Certificate III or IV in Aged Care, Individual Support, or equivalent qualification recognised in Australia.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Previous experience as a Nursing Assistant or Personal Care Assistant in an aged care setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of aged care regulations and standards in Australia.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassion, patience, and a genuine desire to care for the elderly.
- Ability to work as part of a team and adapt to changing circumstances.
