General Manager of People, Culture and Safety

As a key member of the Executive Team and reporting directly to the Managing Director, this is an opportunity to lead a capable and committed HR function across HR Business Partnering, Talent Acquisition, Training, and Safety.

The Role

This is a broad, hands-on leadership position that will suit a commercially minded HR executive who thrives in a traditional, operationally focused environment – where people and performance are front and centre.

You will :

  • Be a trusted strategic partner to the CEO and Executive team
  • Lead end-to-end HR operations across a diverse national workforce (including manufacturing, engineering, logistics and sales)
  • Provide clear, pragmatic advice on ER / IR matters, performance, and compliance
  • Oversee all HR policies, procedures, contracts, and employment obligations (incl. Awards and EBAs)
  • Support workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, retention and succession
  • Champion a continuous improvement approach to systems, processes, and reporting
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team across HR, Recruitment, Training, and WHS.

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven success in a senior HR leadership role, ideally within manufacturing, engineering, logistics or industrial sectors
  • A hands-on and grounded leadership style — someone who is visible, approachable, and action-oriented
  • Strong understanding of Australian employment law, industrial instruments and change management
  • A natural business partner with sound judgment, commercial acumen, and the ability to influence at all levels
  • Experience leading and mentoring HR teams across multiple disciplines
  • A balanced mix of strategic thinking and operational execution.
