    • We are seeking a proactive and creative Head of Art Department to lead our live-action studio team, ensuring the seamless translation of creative concepts into visually compelling and logístically feasible productions.

      You'll be responsible for managing a small team to bring our creative visions to life — visually, logístically, and operationally — collaborating with the creative lead to source and build engaging sets and props.

    • Key Responsibilities
    • Creative & Production Leadership
    • Interpret Creative Concepts
    • Collaborate with the creative team to understand and translate live-action scripts and concepts into actionable visual requirements.
    • Design & Planning
    • Develop detailed visual plans, including set designs, prop requirements, and overall aesthetic direction, ensuring alignment with the creative vision and audience expectations.
    • Feasibility Assessment
    • Evaluate the practicality of designs, considering budget constraints, studio capabilities, and production timelines.
    • Team Management & Collaboration
    • Lead Studio Team
    • Manage and mentor a small, dedicated team,fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
    • Cross-Department Coordination
    • Work closely with the studio, props, and production teams to ensure cohesive execution of designs and timely delivery of assets.
    • Production Oversight
    • Scheduling & Budgeting
    • Oversee the budgeting and scheduling of art department tasks, ensuring on time set and prop delivery, efficient use of resources and adherence to budgets.
    • On-Set Management
    • Supervise art department activities during shoot days, ensuring that sets and props are prepared and maintained to the highest standards, and that shoot schedules are met.

    • Creative Problem Solving
    • Address and resolve challenges related to design, construction, or logistics, proposing innovative solutions that maintain artistic integrity and production efficiency.
    • Continuous Improvement
    • Stay abreast of industry trends and technological advancements to continually enhance the art department's capabilities and output.
    • Requirements
    • Proven experience in a senior art department role within live-action production, preferably in digital media or content creation for youth audiences. Would suit an experienced Art Director looking to step up and utilise their design skills.
    • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire a small team.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with experience working across multiple departments.
    • Solid understanding of production processes, from pre-production planning to on-set execution.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with a keen eye for detail and quality.
    • Proficiency in design software and tools relevant to set and prop design.
    • A proactive and solution-oriented mindset, capable of adapting to the fast-paced nature of content creation.
    • Desirable Attributes
    • Experience working with digital platforms and understanding of audience engagement metrics.
    • Familiarity with trends in youth culture and digital content consumption.
    • Creative flair with a strong portfolio showcasing previous live-action projects.
    • Ability to mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a culture of learning and growth.
