Senior Data Engineer - Python | AWS | Financial Services Location : Sydney, NSW (Hybrid)

About the Role We're seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join a top-tier financial services organisation on a 9-month daily rate contract . This is a fantastic opportunity for a data expert with strong Python , AWS cloud , and financial services experience to contribute to innovative and scalable data solutions.

You'll be working on modern data pipelines, enhancing cloud infrastructure, and collaborating with a highly capable cross-functional team.

Key Responsibilities Design, build, and manage scalable ETL / ELT pipelines using Python Develop robust data solutions using AWS services (e.g., S3, Glue, Lambda, Redshift, EMR, Athena)

Ensure data quality, governance, and compliance standards are met

Optimize the performance and reliability of data platforms

Collaborate with analysts, engineers, and architects across the business

Maintain infrastructure as code and contribute to CI / CD automation

Troubleshoot and resolve data issues in production environments

Skills & Experience Required 5+ years as a Data Engineer or in a similar role

Strong programming skills in Python Proven experience with AWS data services Solid knowledge of SQL and data warehousing principles

Financial services industry experience is essential Experience with data quality frameworks and governance best practices

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Nice to Have Infrastructure as Code experience (e.g., Terraform , CloudFormation )

Exposure to streaming tools (e.g., Kafka , Kinesis )

Familiarity with Snowflake , Databricks , or similar tools
