As a Senior Logistics Support Engineer you will work within a dynamic and talented Engineering Team alongside , conducting engineering assessments, reviewing and supporting the approval of Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and contributing to the Capability Assurance of the RAN Surface Fleet .
Your new role will also provide you with the opportunity to learn, share knowledge and be mentored on Engineering methodology and processes. Enabled by the support of the Integrated Logistics Engineering Manager, you will also be enrolled in our national Engineering network. Working in a friendly team to meet the needs of our customer - the Royal Australian Navy (RAN), your role involves direct engagement with peers, Australian Defence Force personnel, capability partners, sub-contractors and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
As the technical interface between the customer, management and the implementation team, conduct logistics support analysis to ensure products being supported can be sustained.Engage with System Design activities (including trade studies) to ensure that the mechanical design artefacts are compatible with the baselined product; consistent across all subsystems, delivering system design to meet performance requirements.Assess and review program costs, identifying efficiencies and / or cost avoidance opportunitiesMonitor, evaluate. and report on performance. on an ongoing basis, to enable early identification of issues and opportunities.Perform technical risk analysis as required in your work as the ILS engineer to support development and review of hazard logs, safety case arguments and risk mitigation actions.Develop, modify, and improve existing tools. processes, and procedures to meet program requirements, with endorsement from functional leaders.Collaborate with internal and external stakeholder; securing Raytheon’s reputation as a trusted partner in delivering systems integration and mission support solutions to our customers.Skills, Experience and Qualifications
Mandatory : Tertiary Qualification in relevant engineering discipline; holding as a minimum tertiary qualifications and professional development sufficient to attain recognition as CPEng with Engineers Australia in a relevant engineering stream, including ability to attain RPEQ recognition.Minimum 7 years of prior relevant experience (when a University Degree is held).Experience in effectively representing Engineering professional services to both internal and external customers.Desirable : Postgraduate course(s) in reliability, availability, and maintainability techniques.Advanced knowledge of logistics engineering methodologies and techniques.Advanced knowledge of Integrated logistics systems, logistics support analysis, and maintenance requirements determination methodologiesAdvanced understanding of systems engineering, maintenance, and supply chain principles, policies, and Procedures.Advanced understanding of relevant Defence regulatory requirements.Experience with a logistics modelling software eg OPUS, MADe or eLESPRO.This position may require availability to travel when required.Successful candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a NV1 Defence Security Clearance.
