As a Spanish Community Liaison Officer (CLO) within the English as Additional Language and Dialect (EALD) Program, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the engagement and educational outcomes of students from Spanish backgrounds who are experiencing challenges within our education system. You will contribute to creating a culturally and linguistically inclusive environment within Department for Education. Given the ongoing intake of new arrivals in the State and the subsequent enrolment of EALD students in mainstream schools, this position will focus on supporting the inclusion, engagement, and successful transition of Spanish students throughout their schooling journey towards suitable career pathways.
The Spaish Community Liaison Officer will have a strong affiliation with Spanish culture and language group, fostering effective working relationships within their designated community. Spanish Community Liaison Officers are line managed by EALD Manager and work collaboratively with different Spanish communities to achieve successful outcomes collectively.
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN -EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.

ASO5 $85,790 - $95,413 per annum (1.0 FTE) + superannuation (11.5%) and leave loading (will be adjusted to actual hours worked).
