The Department of Planning and Environment's (DPE's) Resilience and Urban Sustainability Division delivers major projects such as the Cumberland Plain Conservation Plan, to support the delivery of green infrastructure and resilience planning.
There is an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Policy Officer to join the team and help develop and deliver planning initiatives that will make Sydney and NSW more sustainable in the decades to come. We are looking to fill various roles across the Resilience and Urban Sustainability division, as well as develop a merit pool for any future vacancies.
About You
The Assistant Policy Officer is an entry-level role and would be suited to someone starting their career or is seeking to transition to a new skill set. Key skills for the role include project management, critical thinking, and the ability to work in a small team and form relationships with stakeholders, including other teams in the Department / government.

Essential Requirements
Tertiary qualification in public policy, planning, law, urban design, economics, ecology, geographical information systems or other relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
