Makerspace is an Army initiative providing a place for learning-by-making and education in innovative approaches, creative thinking, and agile methodologies. All Army personnel are invited to join their local community of makers to gain a professional toolbox of problem-solving techniques to tackle Army's current and emerging challenges. Makerspace is part of The Robotic and Autonomous Systems Implementation & Coordination Office (RICO) within Future Land Warfare Branch and contributes to realising a Future Ready workforce and facilities can be accessed at nine bases across the country.
The Program Manager is responsible for managing the Army Makerspace Program for QinetiQ and having responsibility for overall program outcomes in compliance with financial, legislative, regulatory and QinetiQ safety requirements. The role will require a highly skilled Program Manager who utilises a range of interpersonal skills, project management tools and methodologies on a daily basis to ensure the required planning of appropriate equipment, services and techniques for self and others.
The planning, organisation and execution of all training conducted across the Makerspace Network,
Subcontractor Management,
The establishment of new Makerspace sites
Implementation of program improvement across the technical and project space
Senior stakeholder management including communication updates with Army and QinetiQ
Reviewing, auditing and continuous improvement of Governance documentation
Program and sub-project schedule development and management
Monthly reporting of the project manager's scope of work to the program manager and key stakeholders across QinetiQ and Army.
Travel to remote sites as necessary to deliver program outcomes
Vocational qualification (Diploma) in Project Management (preferably endorsed by the Australian Institute of Project Management or an International equivalent body), supported by relevant project management experience (minimum 5 years), delivering projects within a complex environment; or
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in an appropriate discipline supported by relevant project management experience (minimum 5 years), delivering projects within a complex environment; or
Under certain circumstances in lieu of a qualification in Project Management, another appropriate qualification with a significant and demonstrated depth of relevant experience (minimum 10 years) may be deemed acceptable.
A natural interest in emerging technology, product development or innovation.
Eligibility to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
Strong ability to build and foster relationships internally and externally
Due to the nature of the role, applicants must also be eligible for Australian Defence security clearance.
