Job NoLCCNSW3715LocationLithgow, NSWThe OpportunityLithgow City Council _has an exciting opportunity for a Water and Waste Water Infrastructure Officerto join their team in Lithgow, NSW.Reporting to the Senior Engineer Strategy and Projects, you will be responsible for the review of Development Applications and submitting comment and conditions of consent to Council Development Control Staff for the approval of consents. You will be responsible for the review of Low Pressure sewerage system installations across the LGA and in reticulated water and sewerage areas and projects relating to Council's Water and Wastewater infrastructure including works for developments in the area.
More specifically, your duties will include (but will not be limited to) :
- Project managing the design, tender and construction phases of infrastructure works as well as other potential capital works
- Review / inspect the work done by developers and trades-people to ensure compliance with consent conditions, applicable standards and guidelines
- Issue approvals under section 68 of the LG Act relating to water and sewerage
- Conditioning Development Applications in relation to water and sewerage issues including but not limited to connections, infrastructure, transport and facilities
- Liaise and negotiate with internal business units, external consultants, customers and developers to provide solutions to technical problems resulting from development proposals

- About you
- Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in Civil Engineering, or related discipline suitable for graduate membership of the Institution of Engineers, Australia
- Significant experience in the water and waste water industry, project management including managing consultants; contracts and infrastructure projects
- High level interpersonal skills, including a collaborative style, conflict management, negotiation competency and team building
- Enthusiasm to help deliver the exemplar status Council is seeking for this water and sewerage function and a preparedness to innovate
- Demonstrated history of sharing knowledge and mentoring others
- Office standard computer literacy
- Commitment to Work Health and Safety
- Current NSW Class C Driver's Licence
- Commitment to a high level of customer service
- Demonstrated commitment to and understanding of Work Health and Safety
- Complying with both statutory and environmental responsibilities including, but not limited to, appropriate assessments under Section 68 of the Local Government Act
- Demonstrated understanding of development processes.
- Demonstrated understanding of Council systems and procedures both relating to the plumbing field and Council systems and procedures generally
