About the program
Calvary Bruce private Hospital runs the Calvary OnePlus Graduate Nurse Transition Program (GNTP), a national program that supports the individual in developing principles of clinical practice that promote the transference of knowledge, skills and behaviour for life-long learning. Through support and reflection, the program will empower the individual to make well-informed evidence-based decisions throughout their career. This twelve month practice-based program enables graduates to learn the essential knowledge, skills and attitudes in a supportive environment in a variety of clinical settings throughout the organisation.
Structured critical care transition program with 2 x 6 month rotations over the year through medical, surgical wards, Perioperative and mental health wards at 0.8 FTE (negotiable) A dedicated New Graduate coordinator will support you through the 12 month program Monthly support meetings Regular clinical supervision and support Options to nominate preferred rotation areas Options for critical care rotations Flexible rostering Tailored study days Specialty specific competency books Dedicated multi day Orientation Program Allocated Preceptors for each Graduate Supernumerary shifts at the commencement of each rotation No on call for the duration of the Graduate Year Work across a range of clinical areas in supportive environments recognised as centres of excellence Career progression across a wide variety of specialities within our hospitals Access to leading training, mentoring and development pathways A welcoming, inclusive and values-driven workplace Important dates : First day of program : 10th February 2026

You will be provided with : A dedicated New Graduate coordinator will support you through the 12 month program 2 Graduate study days Graduate nurse devoted education sessions Supernumerary shifts on each rotation Access to scholarships for post graduate study What you bring Mandatory : Registered as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) Valid work rights New graduate nurse who has not previously participated in a graduate nurse transition program and has not been employed for more than 3 months as a nurse in Australia or overseas. Desirable : Demonstrated effective communication, organisational and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to work autonomously as well as a member of a multidisciplinary team. Demonstrated ability to utilise the Nursing Process in the provision of safe, evidence based nursing care to patients in an acute care environment. Participation in ongoing professional development of self and others. If not available, please provide two most recent clinical placement experience assessments. At least two referees with a minimum of one clinical referee.
