Job description

The role The Assisted Reproductive Technology Unit (ARTU) is a newly established unit in the Office of the Chief Health Officer. We are leading implementation of a new regulatory and compliance scheme for assisted reproductive technology (ART) in Queensland, that seeks to protect the interests of persons born as a result of ART and those using ART.

  • ARTU will deliver a large, highly visible and complex program of work, including : - establishing a state-wide licensing and regulatory compliance framework for ART providers;
  • development of appropriate ICT systems; and
  • development of education and training, guidelines, policies, communications materials and resources.
  • Your responsibilities will include
  • Support the implementation of the ART regulatory scheme in an environment of tight deadlines and competing demands. Support the development and maintenance of internal and external artefacts (including policies, procedures, guidelines, education and training materials, briefing documents, correspondence, meeting agendas and minutes, and other content) to deliver and administer the new regulatory scheme. - Provide project support to manage the implementation of the ART regulatory compliance scheme, including maintaining project schedules, reporting, and providing secretariat support. Provide timely and accurate advice and analysis for internal and external stakeholders regarding licensing, compliance, complaints and policy matters, with reference to legislation, policy and procedures. Contribute to the effective functioning of ARTU and more broadly across the OCHO by collaborating and supporting integration within and across teams and undertaking other duties as required. Adhere to defined service quality standards, workplace health and safety policies and procedures to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.

The successful personThe essential requirements for this role are :

  • Demonstrated understanding of policy frameworks and legislation and how these influence the delivery of regulation in complex, public sector environments. - Demonstrated analytical, conceptual, planning and problem-solving skills. - Sound project management skills, including the development of project plans, coordinating activities, monitoring outcomes and managing competing work priorities to meet agreed timeframes, commitments and quality standards. Demonstrated written communication skills, including the ability to prepare information requests, correspondence, guidance documents, briefs, minutes and ministerial correspondence. - Demonstrated interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop effective relationships with stakeholders in a complex and changing environment. Ability to set own priorities and manage time to meet individual deadlines and take personal responsibility for accurate and timely completion of work, seeking assistance and guidance when required. Agility and flexibility to move with changing demands and priorities and work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
