With a view to further develop a high performing Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) culture within the business, Powerlink are now seeking an experienced Manager, HSE Governance and Performance to join the leadership team to develop and implement contemporary HSE partnering and learning approaches, management systems and frameworks.
Powerlink Managers play a critical role in executing initiatives to achieve organisational, industry and community objectives in relation to the supply of power across Queensland. This position will see you provide values-based, inspirational leadership, helping to achieve Powerlink's purpose through driving a high-performance culture.
The Opportunity
Reporting into the General Manager of HSE, this role provides leadership and fit for purpose services to Powerlink and its customers, ensuring the HSE governance, standards, systems and frameworks are robust and aligned to strategy and the work our people perform.
Leading a cross-disciplinary team of HSE systems specialists and business partners, this role includes :
Lead and influence HSE team and stakeholders across the organisation to ensure integration and embedding of Human Organisational Performance (HOP) Principles; and
Lead the implementation of contemporary HSE activities, systems improvement strategies and other key initiatives to ensure the organisation's goals are met.
About you
To add further value to this role, you will have extensive experience leading a multi-disciplinary team of highly proficient individuals who support the operational HSE aspects of a large, complex organisation. You will also have :
Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary learning practices and approaches to HSE partnering, systems, risk and assurance; and
Demonstrated ability to lead, develop and implement risk management processes to ensure that risks are identified, mitigation steps are identified and the risk to individuals are minimised.
Further to this, you will be a contemporary HSE professional who demonstrates felt leadership and always seeks to understand. You will be an exceptionally strong communicator, an inspiring mentor and coach, and have the ability to liaise effectively with all levels of the organisation.
