- Why Your Role Matters
The School of Science is seeking an Associate Lecturer / Lecturer in Statistics and Applied Mathematics. The School encompasses the disciplines of Physics & Oceanography, Chemistry, Geography, Aviation and Mathematics & Statistics. A comprehensive program of Mathematics courses is taught from first through to third year and forms part of a three-year Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Mathematics, or a four-year Honours degree. A PhD program is also offered.
- Who You Are (skills and experience)
- A PhD in Mathematics or a closely related field and the ability and willingness to contribute to the teaching program at all levels.
- Actively stays up to date with discipline knowledge and developments
- Demonstrated passion for teaching and learning design, development and / or delivery at undergraduate and / or postgraduate level
- Demonstrated knowledge of applied mathematical modelling, applied statistics and data analysis
- Knowledge of educational technologies and online delivery methods
- Experience engaging students and fostering independent learning through meaningful assessment and helpful feedback.
- Evidence of and / or preparedness to undertake professional development of teaching practice
- Evidence of highly developed interpersonal skills
- Evidence of ability to support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds and support student equity diversity and inclusion initiatives.
