Base salary will be in the range $100,554.29 - $109,496.46 + 17% Superannuation (HEW Level 7)

In this dynamic and relationship-focused role, you'll support the mission of the Institute for Molecular Bioscience (IMB) by helping to drive strategic opportunities from engagement through to execution. As a key member of IMB's Stakeholder Engagement team, you will cultivate and manage a diverse portfolio of partnerships across government, industry, and academia—ensuring our research translates into meaningful change. By connecting innovation with opportunity, you'll play a vital part in advancing the strategic objectives of IMB and The University of Queensland.

Key responsibilities will include :

Contribute to the creation and implementation of an action plan that drives Business Development performance at IMB.

Meet key performance indicators for the discovery of new research funding streams for the Institute, including : number of unique face-to-face visits, new collaborations discovered and contracts developed.

Implement activities that enhance engagement between academic leaders and potential government and industry partners.

Plan, design, and deliver initiatives and communications that build valued engagement with the Institute's government and industry community.

Support engagement with a broad range of stakeholders in government, industry and academia.

Provide support in the preparation of proposals and the co-ordination of financial and contractual arrangements supporting research initiatives.

Work as a collaborative team member of the IMB Stakeholder Partnership team to maximise impact across diversified revenue streams and stakeholders.

The Stakeholder Partnerships Team The IMB Stakeholder Partnerships Team consists of two embedded functions; Advancement & Engagement and Business Development, underpinned by the function of Marketing, Communications & Events support.The three functions work collaboratively together to strategically plan and deliver actions that are aimed at building and strengthening relationships, create diversified revenue streams and maximise impact with a broad range of industry, government, academic and community stakeholders.

Staff within the team have joint reporting lines and maintain strong day-to-day working relationships with their functional areas located within central teams at the University, who work with IMB leadership to guide strategic direction and target setting.

The team has a high level of interaction with academic and professional staff across the Institute, UQ and with external partners to achieve the immediate and long-term goals of the Institute and University.

About You Degree with subsequent experience in a relevant discipline; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and / or education / training.

Demonstrated experience in the development and implementation of business development activities, demonstrating capacity to deliver quantifiable results.

Demonstrated knowledge and previous work experience in a research-intensive environment in academia, industry or government.

Outstanding verbal communication and presentation capabilities, with strong interpersonal skills.

Strong organisational and time management skills, including the ability to work independently.

Ability to handle situations which require initiative, independent judgement, and consultation with senior stakeholders

The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including : right to work in Australia.
