We are seeking an experienced & highly capable
- Village & Aerodrome Superintendent
- with a strong focus and passion for providing the best experience possible for our employees, contractors and visitors at Karara mine site.
This is a fully autonomous role reporting to the Group Manager Human Resources & Services and is primarily responsible for effectively managing the contracts and services relating to the management of the Karara camp and aerodrome.
To be considered for this role applicants must be able to demonstrate strong commercial acumen and highly effective people management and relationship building skills. Applicants with solid background in camp / aviation management and experience in contract negotiation and management will be highly regarded.
This position is based at the Karara Mine Site and operates on a
5 days on 2 days off and 4 days on 3 days offroster.Key ResponsibilitiesEffective management of service contractors and proactive issue resolution on all matters relating to Village and charter services managementPrepare annual budgets and business plans for Village (Flights and Accommodation) and Aerodrome functionDevelop and implement initiatives and programs that improve the experience of the Karara camp residentsBuild effective relationships and liaise closely with site leaders and key stakeholders to understand the short, medium & long term requirements in Village services according to operation needsProactively monitor, measure, communicate and report issues, opportunities, risks, service levels, and achievements in relation to the functionEffectively manage, coach, develop and mentor direct reportsDrive a positive workplace cultureActively identify continuous improvement opportunities or capital expenditure initiatives in village and aerodrome.Ensure legislative and regulatory compliance by working closely with operational business partners.Essential Qualifications and ExperienceStrong communication and interpersonal skills with stakeholders at all levelsTertiary qualification in Business / Commerce or related fieldWA C Class Driver's LicenseCert IV in Health & Safety (desirable)Experience in a similar role and team management experience in the provision of multidiscipline services within the mining or related industryAerodrome management experience (desirable)Demonstrated knowledge, experience and understanding of legislative provisions governing site operations and servicesStrong commercial acumen with well-developed financial and budgeting skillsDemonstrated contract management and negotiation skillsBusiness and financial planning and reportingAustralian Citizenship or hold a valid visa with permission to workNational Police clearanceThe Karara lifestyleIt is only a short commute (45 minutes) from Perth to our purpose-built airstrip at Karara.
