Description
The Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) (Queensland Section) offers a Dental Service through the Mobile Dental Unit (MDU) to assist rural and remote Queenslanders with access to dental care. The MDU, which has two state-of-the-art dental surgeries, serves upwards of 70 patients per week and offers a range of services, from preventive care to extraction and houses an onboard orthopantomogram or OPG unit. The MDU aims to address the immediate need for dental care in communities within QLD and improve overall health by providing a regular ongoing service.
The Role
As an experienced clinician in rural dentistry, your role will involve providing clinical dental care to patients. This includes conducting clinical examinations, diagnosing dental issues, creating treatment plans, administering treatments, providing oral health education, maintaining comprehensive clinical records, and offering post-treatment support to patients.
The MDU supports communities with the help of a team of two highly qualified dentists and three dedicated dental assistants. Each rotation, this team travels to different locations to provide their expert services and make a positive impact on the oral health of local residents. Your rotations could see you support communities from Cherbourg up to Collinsville and across to Camooweal and many other beautiful places in between.
We’re offering an exciting permanent, part-time opportunity with the flexibility to pick up additional shifts! This 0.5FTE role follows a rotating schedule of 2 weeks on and 4 weeks off!
