Senior Operational Safety Specialist

Competitive Salary + Vehicle | City FringeOur client is seeking a HSE and operational risk leader to provide expert guidance across their high-risk, high-reliability operations in Australia and New Zealand.

This role will ensure robust risk management frameworks across an automotive environment, supporting safety-critical operations through pragmatic tools, system design, and a people-centric approach.Key Role Requirements : Lead risk management across complex operational environments;Develop systems, tools, and critical risk controls;Identify risks across OEM and asset lifecycle, understanding operational interdependencies;Provide advice to senior leadership and frontline teams;Foster safety engagement through people-focused strategies, supporting ANZ operations in high-reliability sectors; andWork closely with the corporate and site based HSE teams on holistic safety strategies and programs.Ideal Candidate Profile : You are a seasoned HSE or risk leader with deep experience in high-risk, high-reliability industries.

Known for your strategic mindset, technical capability, and human-centred leadership, you can influence safety culture, implement critical risk frameworks, and drive practical risk improvements across complex operational settings.Key Candidate Requirements : Expertise in high-risk safety and operational risk context;Experience with Bowtie, Fishbone, or HAZOP methodologies;Knowledge of human factors in safety and performance;Demonstrated leadership in change and process safety;Strong coaching and mentoring capabilities;Background in engineering or asset lifecycle management;Sector experience in rail, oil / gas, or heavy industry; andTertiary qualifications in HSE, Engineering, or Risk.Please note, applications will only be accepted through the official application process.
