Savvy Civil Group Pty Ltd, based in Padstow, NSW, is a business that deals in telecommunications. They handle upgrades of towers, decommissioning of towers, rigging, Technician work, and splicing etc. Currently, there is need of multiple Telecommunications Lines workers in the business. These are full-time positions.
Position Summary :
The Telecommunications Linesworker is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunication cable systems and infrastructure. This role ensures optimal service delivery through the structured deployment of overhead and underground cabling, including fibre optics and copper wiring.
Core Responsibilities :
- Install and maintain telecommunications networks by deploying and securing aerial and underground cabling to support fixed line and broadband systems.
- Conduct fault-finding procedures and perform remedial repairs on physical cable networks to restore or maintain service integrity.
- Interpret and follow network layout diagrams and work plans to execute tasks aligned with service delivery requirements and safety standards.
- Use test equipment and diagnostic tools to verify transmission quality and isolate defects in cable joints or network segments.
- Construct and dismantle telecommunications infrastructure, such as poles, conduits, and support structures, ensuring compliance with technical specifications.
- Splice, terminate, and seal copper and optical fibre cables using manual and automated tools to meet operational performance standards.
- Implement safety barriers and signage and conduct job safety analyses prior to commencing physical work in public or high-risk areas.
- Collaborate with engineers, field technicians, and project managers to execute network upgrades and respond to customer-driven requests.
- Keep accurate records of works completed, materials used, and as-built drawings for quality assurance and compliance audits.
- Adhere to telecommunications industry standards, environmental regulations, and company procedures during all work activities.
Eligibility Criteria :
AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV (ANZSCO Skill Level 3)At least 2-3 years’ of experience in similar positionShould have full-time working rights in Australia.Salary - $75,000 - $85,000 P. A plus super
