Advisor Sales & Marketing

About the Role

Our Sales and Marketing team is responsible for a range of commercial, analytical, and administrative activities that ensure Hancock’s iron ore products are effectively positioned, sold, and delivered to customers.

An exciting opportunity now exists for a Sales and Marketing Advisor  to join our dynamic team in Perth on a 12-month fixed term contract. Reporting directly to the Manager Planning and Sales Operations, you will support the execution of sales contracts, manage customer relationships, and drive the continuous improvement of sales processes to ensure Hancock’s products remain competitively positioned in global markets.

Duties :

• Prepare and manage iron ore sales contracts, ensuring all documentation is accurate and compliant
• Calculate provisional prices, reconcile against customer Letters of Credit (LC), and ensure timely submission to banks
• Coordinate customer vessel nominations, vessel vetting, and loading documentation with Shipping Agents and Port Authorities
• Liaise with Treasury, Finance, and Accounts Payable teams to confirm LCs and ensure prompt payment of marketing invoices within SAP
• Monitor LC expiry, discharge port results, and maintain accurate sales data and market analysis spreadsheets
• Provide high-quality customer service, promptly resolving queries and supporting continuous improvement initiatives
• Support the Manager Planning and Sales Operations in developing and implementing sales strategies and initiatives
• Act as a back-up to Sales & Marketing peers and assist with freight accruals, laytime calculations, and finalising freight differentials with customers and vessel owners

Skills and experience :

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Marketing, Business, Finance or Supply Chain
• Demonstrated experience in a sales, marketing, or commercial support role (preferably in resources or bulk commodities)
• Strong SAP ERP and Microsoft Excel skills
• Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality customer service, process high volumes of invoices accurately, and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
• Proven capacity to work well under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and maintain a positive, “can-do” attitude
• Exposure to iron ore or mining industry sales processes, and experience working with international customers - particularly in the Asian region - will be highly regarded
