- About the role
This position is a fantastic opportunity to launch a rewarding career within the aquatic and leisure industry and join a supportive local council. Join our high performing teams operating across Glen Eira Spors and Aquatic Centre (GESAC) and the newly developed Carnegie Memorial Swimming Pool.
Key responsibilities include :
Supervise patrons in and around the aquatic areaSet up and pack up the aquatic area for various water activitiesImplement emergency / first aid / resuscitation procedures as requiredEnsure customers adhere to centre rules and policiesPerform a range of cleaning and maintenance dutiesAbout youWe are looking for individuals who :
Can think on their feet and respond appropriately in high pressured situationsDemonstrate initiative and are friendly and approachableInteract confidently with a diverse range of peopleAre passionate and enthusiastic about providing a safe aquatic environment for allAre available early mornings, late afternoons and weekendsHave the following qualifications :
Current Australian Pool Lifeguard Award (or willing to obtain)Current Provide First Aid Certificate (or willing to obtain)Working with Children Check (Employee)Glen Eira Leisure Centres have operating hours ranging from 5.00am - 9.30pm. This role will be required to work within these times and must be available on weekends.
Pool Lifeguard QualificationIf successful, you will also be invited to attend a two-day Pool Lifeguard qualification course. This will be subsidised by Glen Eira Leisure.
