- Workshop Supervisor, Textile / Print Workshop
- to join the team on a
- full-time, permanent basis.
- About the Role
- The Workshop Supervisor, Textile / Print Workshop is responsible for the day to day operation of the Faculty's Textile / Print Workshop comprising screen-printing, têxtile dye station, heat presses, knit machinery and other support equipment. The Workshop Supervisor provides support, advice and instruction to students and staff to maximise related teaching and learning programs and academic research projects with appropriate safe use of workshop equipment. You will assist with the development, scheduling, and management of workshop activities to support faculty priorities.
- More specifically, in this role you will
- Maintain the physical infrastructure of the Textile / Print Workshop including maintaining equipment such as screen exposure preparation, heat presses, dye vats, têxtile drying, wash bay, knit têxtile machines and other workshop equipment, purchasing supplies and consumables. - Implement and monitor WHS policies by overseeing appropriate work practices and maintain equipment in safe working order. - Implement workshop induction and training procedures, documentation, and validation methods for safe operation of workshop equipment. - Provide advice and guidance to students one-to-one or as a group, in workshop or studio environments in têxtile, print fabrication principles, methods and practices. Please note : This is not an academic teaching role. Monitor the workshop budget. Coordinate fabrication workshop purchases, casual technical staff resources and acquire materials and equipment. - Communicate and collaborate with internal stakeholders to better understand, anticipate, and meet their current and future needs in accordance with organisational expectations.

Demonstrated experience in providing expertise and training skills in current technical matters relating to materials, resources and equipment used in têxtile and print fabrication environments.
- Remuneration
- Base Salary : $100,695 - $111,394 (HEW 7)
- This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension)
- in addition to
