Job description

This is a fantastic 12-month fixed term contract (paternity leave cover) opportunity for an experience Internal Communications Specialist.

Based in Brisbane , the Communications Specialist provides high quality, specialist communications advice and support to the Shell Energy business. Responsibilities include delivering a range of communications activities and tools that support our culture and operational excellence. There is a focus on internal communications but includes the development of external-facing materials. You will be required to exercise judgement, set priorities and schedule work to meet deadlines, as well as delivering accurate, timely communications tailored to different audience needs.

With respect, integrity and honesty, you will :

  • Delivery of internal communications programs and activities including development of staff news, updates and information cascade;
  • Internal projects, working with teams across the business to provide communications input and support;
  • Management and evolution of the Shell Energy “Livewire” intranet to support business objectives and culture, including development of content and resources;
  • Business support including to the Retail and Consumer teams (e.g presentations, information required for customer proposals, RFPs etc);
  • Support in delivering key culture communications activities to employees including days of significance program;
  • Management of the staff recognition program (Excellence Awards)
  • Development of content, resources and collateral to use both internally and externally;
  • Manage media monitoring; and
  • Ensure administrative tasks are well managed and completed.

What you’ll bring

Here’s what you’ll need to thrive in this role :

  • Knowledge of communication practices and principles; ability to craft effective and well considered communication plans;
  • Proven digital capability including video and video editing, photo editing, simple graphic design, management of digital engagement tools and company-wide intranet;
  • Ability to deliver high quality written communications for a range of channels and audiences, including engaging and effective Powerpoint presentations
  • Ability to perform under pressure and self-manage workload;
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; and
  • Skilled at transforming complex information and data into digestible and understandable communications materials.
