Primary School Physical Education Teacher

About the Role

The Primary School teacher has a responsibility to exercise the purpose and values of the School in and out of the classroom. In partnership with the Head of Primary PE and K-2 Sport, the teacher will deliver the academic programme in a way that fosters the pursuit of excellence and the attainment of each student’s potential.

Being an active participant in the Co-curricular Programme offered is seen as a vital role played in contributing to the holistic development of students.

About You

You are dedicated, passionate and possess the following :

• An ACT teacher’s registration through the ACT TQI or willingness to apply
• Curriculum knowledge and learning and teaching strategies from Pre-school to Year 6
• Early Years qualifications (can be currently studying)
• Bronze medallion accreditation
• Proven experience in developing innovative academic pathways to achieve outstanding academic results for all students
• The ability to work collaboratively with CGS team members and lead others
• PYP experience or an understanding of Inquiry pedagogy
• The ability to implement initiatives, project delivery and change management
• Administrative and organisational skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to the full life of an Independent school and a willingness to engage in School activities out of regular hours

All team members at CGS are required to have :

• A relevant tertiary degree and teaching qualification
• Excellent written English and effective interpersonal communication skills
• Excellent technological literacy across a range of applications
• A valid ACT Working with Vulnerable People Card or willingness to apply
• Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
