    • About the Role
    • Reporting to the Technical Resources Coordinator (Lighting), the Duty Technical Officer provides proactive and reactive venue and studio technical support for the Faculty's lighting, sound and AV infrastructure. The position is responsible for induction of students and staff in the safe use and operation of equipment. The role will also be required to install and operate lighting and sound systems and contribute to maintenance programs and procurement.

      The Programs & Operations Team includes Workshops, Digital Media, Production and Facilities, Programming and OH&S staff who all support the teaching and learning programs delivered by the Faculty. The incumbent will also work with other operational areas to ensure the effective delivery of the Faculty's education programs.

      Responsibilities include :

    • Responding promptly and efficiently to ad hoc technical requests from stakeholders regarding AV, lighting and sound as required.
    • Providing induction, instruction, and demonstration to users of equipment, studios, venues and other learning environments.
    • Installing and operating sound, AV and lighting systems for concerts, examinations, recitals and conferences as required.
    • Contributing to the updating of venue plans and venue technical documentations.
    • About You
    • To be successful in this role you will have a demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage time effectively to prioritise tasks that assist deliverable outcomes for student curriculum. You will bring an ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders as well as an ability to work independently and as a member of a team.

      You will also have :

    • Demonstrated experience providing instruction in the use of performance-based technologies
    • Broad experience in operating AV, lighting and sound equipment
    • Broad experience in troubleshooting technical issues with AV, lighting and sound equipment
    • Demonstrated strong service orientation, and a commitment to innovative and continuous improvement
    • Confident use in VectorWorks
