Work directly with the business
Our client is currently recruiting a Technical Leads to join their organisation on a permanent basis. Though the client is based in Sydney CBD the requirement to be in office is 1 day a week.
This person will be required to be hands on, be able to a lead a technical team of both onshore and offshore developers, engage in continuous mentoring and coaching with their direct team and work collaboratively with a broader group of product, designers, devops etc but key to the role is stakeholder engagement and broad discussions with the business.
The majority of the new work is cloud native on AWS, Node, React and Serverless framework so we are expecting someone to come from that technical background.

You will provide technical leadership for your engineering team, working with the broader group to define and scope projects and delivery against those whilst blending technical leadership and high EQ to bring the best out of your team and coach and mentor along the journey.
Reporting to the Engineering manager, you will provide technical leadership to support improvements within the engineering practice - with a focus on helping deliver quality technical outcomes, helping reduce operational (platform) costs, reduce inefficiencies. You will support the strategic future direction, helping transform the approach to end-to-end delivery providing task definition and design / architecture direction for other engineers. Still a very hands-on role, you would also spend time pairing, coaching and mentoring engineers in the team. Taking responsibility for the actions of your team, good and bad.
