  • About the role

Reporting to the Operational Readiness Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing AI-driven solutions to enhance workplace safety, mitigate risks, and foster a secure environment for our employees.

This position sits within our MRT arm of the business

  • we transport over 30 million tonnes per annum within our Iron Ore and Lithium operations and are proud to be moving towards a world first in autonomous road trains.
  • Utilize artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms to analyse historical and real-time date related to workplace incidents.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and identify potential safety hazards using advanced analytics.
  • Develop and implement machine learning models for predictive safety analytics.
  • Utilize AI techniques for anomaly detection, identifying patterns indicative of potential safety issues.
  • Design and implement data pre-processing pipelines to ensure the quality and relevance of input data.
  • Implement systems for real-time monitoring of safety metrics using AI algorithms.
  • Configure alerts and notifications to promptly address and respond to potential safety concerns.
  • Work closely with safety and health teams to understand requirements and challenges.
  • Collaborate on the integration of AI tools into existing safety protocols and procedures.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies in data analytics, AI and ML.
  • What you'll bring to the team
  • Bachelor's degree in data science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in developing and deploying AI solutions, particularly in the context of workplace safety.
  • 1-2 years' experience in Analytical Data.
  • Proficient in programming languages commonly used in AI, such as Python or TensorFlow.
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations and protocols.
  • Knowledge of sensor technologies and IoT devices used in workplace safety.
  • Familiarity with industrial safety standards and practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
  • Commitment to safety and environmental stewardship.
  • A passion for data, problem solving and willingness to learn.
