As a Pricing Analyst at RGA you will be responsible for assisting the Senior Pricing Actuaries in the pricing of individual and group business through modelling, risk analysis and other new business development activities.
As part of this opportunity you will gain exposure to the Australian and New Zealand life insurance industry through our clients. You will build on your technical actuarial skills, as you progress towards completing your Actuarial Fellowship. Our actuaries are life insurance experts and uniquely positioned to provide non-traditional solutions to our clients.
- Responsibilities
This role will focus on supporting the Pricing (Individual and Group) function to : _ _
- Conduct accurate and timely modelling, risk analysis, and other new business development activities
- Draw from a range of information sources to diagnose and respond to problems and issues
- Contribute to the design of reinsurance transactions
- Model and analyse quotes using the approved pricing basis
- Use statistical and / or actuarial approaches to interpret issues and identify business risks
- Make pricing recommendations based on work completed
- Review treaty and addendum wordings and ensure consistency with offer documents and other documentation
- Review technical work of other pricing team members for completeness and accuracy and provide training to new team members
- Assist in product development initiatives

- Marketing & Research (support in the development of marketing initiatives and assist with research, experience studies and internal reviews)
- Participating in knowledge sharing initiatives within the team
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities that impact a particular work practice / process
- Evaluate work practices to minimise rework and maximise productivity
- Support and assist to identify project tasks, activities and dependencies
- Identify various options and seek optimal solution in modelling data
- Develop appropriate models to manipulate and model data
- Consider data modelling issues and proposes process improvements to minimise risk of error
- Requirements
- Qualifications & Experience : _
- Bachelor's degree in math, finance, statistics, actuarial science or related field
- Working towards actuarial qualification with the Institute of Actuaries of Australia (or equivalent body)
- Modelling and data capabilities are an advantage
