- The role and what we are looking for
Reporting to the Head of L&D, as a Learning & Development Specialist you will be responsible to work closely with stakeholders to understand their learning needs.
As a member of the Capricorn L&D team, you will be a key contributor in the enablement and delivery of targeted and engaging learning across our business.

- Provide specialist learning advice and solutions to managers by being proactive and asking questions.
- Develop and coach managers to support and encourage learning in the business.
- Use feedback from stakeholders to continuously improve the L&D service and find new and better ways to operate.
- Collaborate with HR for remedial training options and to find new ways of delivering excellent services.
- Coordinate new employees start dates with HR so that they align with training cycles (if possible).
- Training
- Design, facilitate, and implement high quality learning programs to meet organisational and employee needs.
- Use instructional design methodologies to create learning programs, workshop materials and other documentation that support adult learning principles (utilising eLearning, instructor-led training, and blended learning solutions).
- Develop training plans and related documentation to support business initiatives, projects, and programs.
- Create training manuals, workshop materials and other documentation to support training delivery.
- Facilitate engaging training sessions, in both virtual, blended and classroom environments
- Use Capricorn's learning management system (LMS) to deliver blended learning programs.
- Work within a team of L&D Specialist's to develop engaging, online learning content to support training delivery.
- Assist with the implementation of the L&D road map to meet immediate and long-term L&D needs.
- Research and procure external training programs to address competency gaps.
- Identify and analyse training needs and gaps in consultation with the business to understand where high value training opportunities exist.
- Design training profiles in consultation with stakeholders, identifying both mandatory and role specific training.
- Provide ongoing reporting and analysis of L&D activities.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of L&D trends and best practice including innovative L&D methods.
- Experience
- Familiar with traditional and modern L&D methods (e.g. mentoring, coaching, on-the-job, virtual, classroom, blended, e-learning, 70 : 20 : 10, etc).
- Strong background in developing learning solutions, training material and facilitating workshops using instructional design expertise.
- Preferred experience delivering a variety of system training, sales, and behavioural training in a corporate environment.
- Qualifications
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
- Tertiary qualified in learning and development, HR or similar (preferred).
