Our client is seeking a dedicated and efficient

  • Project Officer
  • to provide high-level support to the
  • Financial Management Project Team
  • As the Project Officer, you will ensure the smooth operation of daily project administration and enable the Project Manager to focus on delivering project objectives. This is a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of key transformation initiatives.

The ideal applicant will have demonstrable experience working across complex projects, particularly in the government sector, with a focus on meeting key milestones and managing relationships across multiple stakeholders. You are well-organised, proactive, and highly skilled in using SAP and project management tools. You can work independently while also being an integral part of a collaborative, high-performing team. Your understanding of project methodologies like Prince2 or Agile makes you versatile in adapting to different project environments.

  • What You'll Be Doing
  • Project Administration : Support project activities by using recommended project control solutions to ensure objectives and timelines are met.
  • Research Support : Assist with research by collecting, collating, and analysing data to inform project decisions.
  • Reporting & Documentation : Prepare project reports, spreadsheets, and planning documentation, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Onboarding & Offboarding : Manage onboarding and exiting processes for project staff to ensure a smooth transition.
  • Budget Monitoring & SAP Management : Provide financial reports to the Project Manager and undertake tasks such as purchase order creation and goods receipting in SAP.
  • Stakeholder Engagement : Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support project success.
  • Meeting & Workshop Coordination : Organise and facilitate project meetings, workshops, and forums, taking detailed minutes and managing logístical requirements.
  • Project Scheduling : Assist with updating project schedules, and managing risks and issues registers.
  • Records Management : Ensure project artefacts are effectively managed through the department's eDRMS and SharePoint, supporting informed decision-making.
  • What You'll Bring
  • Prior experience using SAP to manage project finances and procurement processes.
  • Prior experience using Microsoft Project tools.
  • Experience supporting programs and projects within Government, ensuring that processes align with governmental regulations and frameworks.
  • A solid understanding of Prince2 or Agile methodologies, demonstrating adaptability to different project environments.
  • Strong research and analytical skills, assisting in collecting and analysing data to support project decisions.
  • The ability to build and maintain stakeholder relationships, working collaboratively with internal and external (multi-agency) teams to meet project deadlines.
  • Experience coordinating and tracking project schedules, ensuring key milestone dates are met and risks / issues are managed effectively.
