About the Client :

Government agency tasked with making life easier, accessible, and equitable for thousands of individuals and families across Australia. Currently seeking for a Senior Business Analyst join their busy team for a casual 12-months temporary assignment.

About the Role

As a Senior Business Analyst will exercise a considerable degree of independence to engage in very complex problem solving and centred around a large-scale transformation that is currently underway.

Building relationships and business acumen are two of your key skills that you use to support the team in delivering positive outcomes for the agency.

• Work closely with program, business and technical stakeholders to effectively discover, define, validate, prioritise and continuously manage requirements that translate identified needs into outcomes which align with architectural principles and strategies.
• Examine and organise requirements to record dependencies, relationships and identify logical sequences.
• Synthesise business and technical requirements / concepts and present them in simple terms.
• Study the system being implemented to become a subject matter expert on the system functionality. This may be via a combination of researching system documentation and videos, experimenting and discovering in a non-production environment, and interviews with technical experts from the vendor or technical teams.
• Draft business analyst artefacts and documents that may include risk analysis, scope modelling, business process modelling, data discovery and analysis, problem tracking and sequence diagrams.
• Provide support on stakeholder analysis, assisting the team to engage with stakeholders to effectively understand cross-business functions.
• Undertake project quality management tasks such as peer and quality reviews of specifications and design documents and participate in project reviews, ensuring designed solutions meet business requirements.
• Assist the project manager and the team to translate requirements into project deliverables and tasks.
• Assist team members to effectively document the systems and solutions that the team develops, delivers and maintains.
