    • The opportunity

Your role as a Senior Data Analyst supports UniSuper doing this by p roviding expertise and guidance on all things data analysis - assisting our stakeholders to meet their objectives by enabling trustworthy, valuable, and easily consumable data and insights. Besides, you will be supporting the business to make better decisions through reporting, self-service data access and analysis.

      In this amazing role, you will need to :

    • Understand, evaluate and translate business needs to data / technical needs through proactive discussions with Business SMEs and stakeholders
    • Triage and prioritise data requests effectively based on policies & processes and manage stakeholder expectations accordingly
    • Source and build relationships between data sets and different data sources
    • Design and build reports, visualisations and dashboards with the target audience in mind
    • Develop complex datasets and models
    • Present high-quality insights and recommendations to help meet the business needs
    • Identify opportunities to improve and enhance BI processes, practices and self-service
    • Creating dynamic on-demand and bespoke analysis, models, reports and dashboards that are digestible and easily understood by all relevant stakeholders
    • Enabling Business Unit(s) to deliver on their core business and priorities by leveraging data outputs and telling stories through data
    • Training, coaching and creating learning opportunities to share knowledge and experiences within the Insights and wider Data Office teams.
    • In addition, you will work closely with all other Data Office team members, and will excel in

    • Being an ambassador for the Data Office
    • Promoting data literacy and a data culture during interactions with stakeholders at all levels
    • Embracing Agile concepts, ways of working and transparency
    • Proactively identifying potential opportunities for the Data Office and stakeholders to derive value from data via reporting, analytics and data science
    • What capabilities will set you up for success
    • We are looking for an individual who has worked in fast moving transformation environment and is comfortable working with a degree of ambiguity. Besides, you will bring :

    • Intermediate to advanced level in Business Intelligence - Developing, producing and delivering management information to provide insights and aid decision-making
    • Intermediate to advanced level in Data Modelling - Developing models to represent and communicate data requirements and data assets
    • Intermediate to advanced level in Data Visualisation - Facilitating understanding of data by displaying concepts, ideas, and facts using graphical representations for technical and non-technical audiences
    • Intermediate to advanced level in Understanding Needs & Insights - Translating and communicating data outputs in an intuitive and insightful way to help BUs make data-driven decisions
    • Intermediate to advanced level in Stakeholder Management - Achieving a proactive partnership relationship and influencing stakeholder attitudes, decisions, and actions for mutual benefit
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business, computer science, statistics, or another related field, Masters or advanced degree a plus
    • Extensive experience in data / business analytics with some supervisory duties
    • Experience in a variety of insights related tools and techniques including SQL Server / SSRS / SSIS / SSAS; Power BI; Python and Cognos
    • High levels of attention to detail and the ability to critically assess analytics and insights
    • An analytical mind and inclination for problem-solving
    • Excellent written and oral communications skills
    • Experience within Financial Services and particularly superannuation (Highly Desirable)
    • Experience in Agile delivery models (Desirable)
    • Experience of contemporary cloud-native analytics platforms in Azure or AWS (Desirable)
