Harbison was founded by a group of volunteers in the late 1950s to provide local, independent, high-quality care and accommodation for the aged and disabled in the Southern Highlands and surrounding areas.

- What is the Role?
The role of a Leisure and Lifestyle Officer is to coordinate, implement and evaluate all activities at Harbison to give meaning and purpose to the lives of our residents.
- You will be responsible for
- Orientate and assess residents to develop individualised care plans. This includes an ongoing review of care plans based on the changing needs of the residents.
- Organise and facilitate various physical, social, spiritual, and mentally stimulating activities per lifestyle calendar.
- Accompany residents on social outings to various locations around the region. This may include driving Harbison vehicles.
- Ensure appropriate, regular, and timely communication with residents, relatives and friends about the Leisure and Lifestyle program, and develop strategies to encourage participation.
- Collaborate with the Leisure and Lifestyle Team Leader to develop resilient activity programs tailored to the individual needs of the residents.
- Assist in feedback processes to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Assist at mealtimes, including meal delivery and morning / afternoon teas where required.
- Provide support and participate in special events / activities as facilitated by Harbison.
- Report any resident changes to the Registered Nurse and document the changes as required.

- Understanding of dementia and behavioural management
- Ideally, you have experience in the Aged Care sector, however this is not essential. We are ideally seeking a strong focus on customer service and care and a "can do" attitude and we would be happy to support individuals who demonstrate the right attitude and approach in obtaining the relevant qualifications.
