Secondary Maths Teacher

About the Role : Tradewind are looking for a passionate and dedicated Junior Maths teacher to join a welcoming Catholic co-educational school in Melbourne's outer eastern suburbs, commencing in Term 3.

This full-time role is ideal for an educator who is enthusiastic about fostering numeracy skills and mathematical thinking in students across Years 7-9, within a supportive and well-resourced learning environment.

Key duties : Develop and implement a comprehensive math curriculum that aligns with The Victorian CurriculumCreate engaging and interactive lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.Use a variety of teaching methods and resources to effectively convey mathematical concepts and problem-solving strategies.Provide timely feedback to students on their performance and progress in math.Differentiate instruction to meet the individual needs of students, including providing additional support or challenges as needed.Engage in continuous professional development to stay updated on best practices in math education, teaching methodologies, and curriculum development.Collaborate with other math teachers and school staff to share resources, ideas, and best practices.Skills & Experience : Must hold unrestricted working rights in AustraliaCurrent VIT registration is essentialProven experience teaching secondary Maths in Australia / NZCommitment to supporting the Catholic Ethos of the schoolAbility to provide two education-based references from the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable)Offering : A full-time, ongoing position starting from Term 3 until the end of the yearWork with students in years 7-9Salary aligned with demonstrated expertise, ranging from $78,000 to $116,000Be part of a small team including wood technicians in a well resourced spaceContinuing opportunities for professional development and leadership in the near futureThe School : A co-ed Catholic school of around 1600 students from years 7-12Nestled amongst the trees, the school sits at the gateway to the Yarra ValleyDedicated school leaders across a range of year levels and areas to support teachers and studentsStrong commitment to fostering positive relationships across its communityWhy work with Tradewind?
