About the Centre / Service Miners Rest Primary School is approximately 10km north-west of Ballarat. The school was established in the mid-19th Century and is set in a growth corridor of the Ballarat region. The school provides an engaging, authentic, and progressive learning environment that meets the needs of its enrolment. We currently have 353 students across sixteen classrooms and our expansive school site offers collaborative learning spaces, a competition-sized Gymnasium, an Arts Centre, and Kitchen Garden facilities. Our outdoor facilities also include passive learning areas, as well as three playgrounds, two tennis courts, a basketball court and both a turf and a synthetic grass oval.We have the Miners Rest Kindergarten onsite, with the school as Service Provider, allowing for a comprehensive transition program. The Kindergarten has an enrolement of around 100 students.The Miners Rest Out of Schools Hours Care Program aims to provide a safe, secure and stimulating environment for children at the highest possible standard. The OSHC Program is a not-for-profit service for families of Primary School and Kindergarten age children in our school community.The Outside School Hours Care Program operates a similar curriculum to the kindergarten and is a play-based service targeted to supporting children's learning development in a fun and engaging way.Children enrolled in our Kindergarten or Primary School can access the Miners Rest OSHC Service.
Work Days of the Role Monday to Friday : 6 : 50AM - 8 : 50AM & 3 : 00PM - 6 : 00PM. Attendance required during school holidays and student-free days (hours may be extended during these periods).

Description Responsibilities Assist in the provision of a high quality program for all children by following the National Quality Standard, My Time, Our Place, and the Early Years Learning Frameworks.Assist in meeting all regulatory and legislative requirements.Provide and support an inclusive environment including for children with additional needs and for families.Perform specific tasks including, but not limited to, supervision of children, observations reflecting My Time, Our Place outcomes, running of activities, cleaning, and food preparation.Ensure children are safe, secure and their individual needs are met at all times.Provide regular communication of service user's feedback and information to the relevant team members.Attend and contribute to team meetings.Participate and contribute to the ongoing evaluation and quality improvement of the program.Understand responsibilities and roles and work in accordance with Work Health and Safety, Mandatory Reporting, Emergency Procedures, and WCS and SAC policies and procedures.Apply workplace Diversity and Equity principles at all times.This is a part-time (25 hours per week), fixed-term 12-month position classified as Education Support Level 1, Range 2.Monday to Friday : 6 : 50AM - 8 : 50AM & 3 : 00PM - 6 : 00PM.Attendance required during school holidays and student-free days (hours may be extended during these periods).For detailed salary information, please refer to the Department of Education's Policy and Advisory Library : Certificate III in Early Childhood / Children's Services or equivalent
