Infrastructure (AD) Engineer – Contract-to-Permanent

Location : Melbourne, VIC (Hybrid – 1–2 days onsite per week)

Sector : Large Retail Organisation

Overview :

A large Australian retail group is seeking a skilled and motivated Infrastructure Engineer with a strong Windows Systems Administration background and deep Active Directory expertise. This is a contract-to-permanent opportunity for someone who thrives in a hybrid infrastructure environment and is looking to build experience in cloud technologies.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Support and maintain Windows-based infrastructure
  • Administer, configure, and troubleshoot Active Directory (AD)
  • Manage VMware environments and contribute to cloud migration efforts
  • Assist in projects involving Azure AVS and AVD
  • Operate effectively within hybrid (on-prem and cloud) infrastructure setups

Required Skills and Experience :

  • Strong experience with Windows Systems Administration
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Active Directory (essential)
  • Solid VMware administration knowledge
  • Exposure to cloud technologies, particularly Azure AVS and AVD
  • Experience migrating from on-prem to cloud environments

    • Desirable :

  • Familiarity with large-scale environments or an interest in growing into them
  • Comfortable coming from a BAU background with ambition to upskill
  • Confidence working in a hybrid infrastructure landscape
