Advanced Mining Production Systems are looking for Underground Geologists.
As a Geologist at AMPS, you will be instrumental in supporting our existing Geology department, as well as assisting with the development and optimisation of client geology teams, both nationally and internationally.
Reporting to the Geology Consulting Manager, you will be responsible for providing geological support to clients by coordinating the collection, analysis and interpretation of geological data.
Roles and Responsibilities
Timely and accurate collation and reporting of geological data
Geological mapping, logging and sampling activities
Supporting production reconciliations
Monitoring and reviewing product quality, including dilution and ore recovery
Formulation of work quality requirements and documentation
Working collaboratively with AMPS team members, onsite technical service
teams and all other relevant team members
Supporting and assisting with the development of continuous improvement
Facilitating the daily functioning of the geology department
Selection Criteria
Qualifications and Experience
Tertiary qualification in Geology, honours viewed favorably
2+ years' experience at an open pit operation
Experience using 3D modelling software
Experience in open pit grade control
Geological logging experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Solid understanding of Mining Geology
Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work safely and with mínimal supervision
Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol test
