The Emergency Registrar is directly responsible to the attending Emergency Consultant for day-to-day patient management, and ultimately to the Chief Medical Officer. They will provide the day-to-day clinical management of patients under the care and direction of the Consultant Staff of the Department to ensure a high quality of patient care. They will undertake administrative duties for the Department under the direction of the Consultant Staff to ensure that the Department is run efficiently.
Owned by one of Australia's largest Private Health Care operators, this hospital has approximately 700 beds. The Emergency Department consists of 12 beds, which includes 30 adult treatment bays, a 12-bed emergency admission area for patients requiring observation, an 11-bed paediatric treatment and observation area and 3 resuscitation bays including a combined adult and paediatric resuscitation bay.
This ACEM accredited site is one of the busiest in Australia, seeing on average approximately 295 patients per day including 25-30% of Paediatric presentations.
