  • About the role
  • This new role, one of the first community mental health Nurse Practitioners in the district, will be part of the local intake team, focusing on assertive community assessments, brief interventions, complex case consultations, and psychoeducation. The position will also involve developing a Model of Care for Nurse Practitioners and contributing to quality improvement and research initiatives. Flexible work options, clinical supervision, and professional development opportunities are offered, with support from the multidisciplinary team, Clinical Coordinator, and Nurse Practitioner network.

    • Where you'll be working
    • This is a new position for Greater Newcastle Mental Health Service and will sit primarily within our local intake team, with the option of being based at either Newcastle (James Fletcher campus) or Charlestown. Greater Newcastle Mental Health service is interested in attracting team members that are innovative, foster growth and development throughout the team and can contribute to positive team culture.

    • An eligibility list will be created for future permanent part time and temporary part time vacancies.
    • This position is part time
    • 4 days per week, business hours. There may be opportunity for additional hours into the future. There is flexibility with the specific days worked (Monday to Friday) and with start time; 7.30am, 8am or 8.30am

    • Requirements
    • Registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
    • Nurse Practitioner or working towards Masters of Nursing (Nurse Practitioner) or a qualification / Masters level deemed equivalent.
