Join to apply for the Occupational Therapist / Speech Pathologist - Teenagers and Young Adults role at Autism Association of Western Australia Our Therapy and Clinical Services Team are a multi-disciplinary team of experts in Autism, using peer reviewed, evidence-based practices to ensure that the individuals and families we support have options relevant to their needs while adding value to their life. We have a large team of experienced clinicals including Psychologists, Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers and Teachers.

We are seeking to grow our team and are looking for a dynamic and highly organised Speech Pathologist or Occupational Therapist with a demonstrated experience and commitment to providing excellent service to individuals with Autism and their families. This role will deliver supports and services to teenagers and young adults supporting their transition to adult life.

In this role, you will :

Deliver person centred therapy intervention and support to assist young adults with Autism achieve their goals using a wide range of evidence-based interventions Work as part of a team in collaboration with other Therapists, Job Coaches and Specialist support co-ordinators to maximise client outcomes Provide direct, individualised support and advice on future planning for study & / or employment Build capacity of family and other community / education / employment supports Liaise with key stakeholders to facilitate client orientated goals Prepare and transition individuals to employment supports and services Advocate for our clients to access community supports and services. About You To succeed in this role, you will be passionate about supporting Autistic individuals to achieve great things. You will possess excellent organisational and time management skills and a dedication to the rights of people with disability. You will enjoy being out and about working with clients in various settings.

Our successful applicant will also have :

Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy, or Speech Pathology and be registered with AHPRA or SPA respectively. Demonstrated knowledge of evidence based practice in disability Demonstrated ability to provide quality therapy interventions. Demonstrated ability to work effectively autonomously as well as in a multi-disciplinary and dynamic team environment Demonstrated excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills including computer literacy Current knowledge of legislative obligations for Equal Opportunity, Disability Services and Occupational Safety and Health, and how these impact on employment and service delivery To join our team you must complete required clearances including an NDIS Workers Check.
