Based in our Osborne Park office and reporting to the Graphic Design Manager, this role will be primarily responsible for the design and layout of our daily newspapers, The West Australian and The Sunday Times.

What We Need : The ideal candidate will have proven experience within a busy news environment, a thorough grasp of publication design, a keen attention to detail, a sense of urgency and have a desire to work collaboratively within a team.

Key Responsibilities :

  • The design and layout of our print products, with a focus on general news, business and sport
  • Turning stories into visual experiences with stunning design and infographics
  • Keeping our mastheads sharp and consistent, across both print and digital formats
  • Collaborating in a deadline-driven environment where every second counts
  • Representing the brand with professionalism and flair

    • What You Bring :

  • High proficiency in InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Strong understanding of print, type and layout
  • Strong attention to detail
  • The ability to work under high pressure and to tight deadlines
  • The ability to find solutions to complex problems and apply critical thinking
  • Ability to quickly pick up new skills and software
  • Knowledge of current affairs, pop culture and / or sports (especially AFL) is a plus
