What you'll do :
- As a Principal Planning Officer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of education in Queensland. You will work closely with specialist central office teams responsible for the delivery of new schools throughout Queensland. Your guidance in the design of new school infrastructure projects from initial planning phase through to delivery will be crucial in ensuring they achieve scope and functional requirements.
- Drive the development and delivery of infrastructure planning initiatives, including scoping documentation, facilities briefs and concept master planning.
- Provide strategic and high-level program support for ongoing and future projects.
- Engage with stakeholders through Project Working Groups (PWGs) to develop innovative and fit-for-purpose infrastructure solutions.
- Provide critical analysis of concept design documentation to ensure alignment with functional operational requirements.
- Assist in procurement activities involving the engagement of external consultants involved in the new schools planning process.
- Deliver accurate and timely reporting, detailed presentations, and briefing materials for team leaders, governance boards, and stakeholders to support evidence-based decision making.
- Collaborate to identify opportunities for ongoing continuous improvement in the infrastructure planning processes.
- Lead and inspire innovative approaches to infrastructure planning that address the evolving needs of Queensland education system.
- Align with governance processes and departmental policies while identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
