Venue Manager

This is a full-time on-site role for a Venue Manager at the UniBar located in Adelaide. The Venue Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the venue, ensuring the smooth running of events and activities. Responsibilities include recruiting and managing staff, coordinating with vendors and suppliers, creating and managing budgets, reporting based on key performance indicators, and implementing health and safety regulations. The Venue Manager will also be responsible for providing excellent customer service, handling any issues that arise during events, and ensuring a positive experience for all guests and students.

The role involves working across a 7 day roster including nights and weekends however the venue is usually closed on Sunday, public holidays and across the Christmas break.

Candidate Attributes

Experience in a similar role at assistant manager level or higher.

Experience in operations of a live music venue highly desirable; including liaison with production, ticketing, artist contracting and hospitality.

Connections and network into the hospitality, food and music industries regarded highly.

Knowledge of, or connections into the University community.

UniBar ADL is the licensed on-campus venue at the University of Adelaide. It has a storied history having operated for over 50 years. Recently the venue was inducted into the South Australian Music Hall of Fame having hosted the likes of of Silverchair, Blink 182, Violent Soho, Powderfinger, Parkway Drive, Tash Sultana, Dune Rats and You Am I (to name very few).

UniBar ADL is a hybrid venue which services the students and faculty of the University of Adelaide by day during semester, and operates as a live music venue and outdoor events space by night and each weekend.
