Role fit

The essential requirements for this role are.

  • Clinical Ability
  • Willingness to develop clinical competency in Pathology and participate in work output assessment and feedback processes.
  • Ability to work under direction and within the limitations of a defined role in patient care.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively use computers and general office equipment and to quickly acquire ability to use new information and data systems.
  • Team Participation / Communication
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively as part of a team with a good understanding of own scope of practice in a complex and demanding work environment.
  • Demonstrated skills in self-organisation and initiative to enable the timely completion of a variety of tasks allowing efficient service function.

Reporting / work relationships

  • Cadets report operationally to a line manager and professionally to a supervising Health Practitioner from their discipline.
  • Cadets will be supported culturally through being networked with other Aboriginal and / or Torres Strait Islander Cadets, and through a local Aboriginal and / or Torres Strait Islander mentor.
  • This position has no direct line management responsibility or financial delegations.
  • Mandatory qualifications, registrations and other requirements

  • Must be enrolled full time (defined as at least 75% of the full-time study load) at an Australian university located in Australia, in a Bachelor of Medical Laboratory science.
