• The Role

Ventia are currently looking to engage a qualified & experienced Nursery Technician for an ongoing full time position. This role will see you based at Garden Island (HMAS Stirling) within a well-established maintenance team. Duties include daily management of a small native plant nursery and may include but are not limited to : Propagation; seed collection and storage; plant material collection, identify and treat pests, diseases and weeds; pot on plants; monitor irrigation systems.

• Skills and Experience
• Experience in plant production and nursery management. (Qualifications highly regarded but not essential)
• Excellent native plant ID
• High degree of accuracy in record keeping
• Self-motivated and organised, and able to self-manage time and tasks whilst keeping up the lines of reporting
• Can demonstrate drive and initiative along with common sense.
• Ability to work as part of a team as-well-as being able to work autonomously in unsupervised locations
• Sound knowledge of pests, diseases and weeds
• Understanding of the importance of nursery hygiene and commitment to work health & safety practices
• In order to be successful in this role you must be an Australian Citizen and eligible to hold a Defence Security Clearance. This will require us to complete an Australian Federal Police check on your behalf._
