Your new role as Business Development Manager - MICE reports directly to our Director of Sales & Marketing. Together you will drive proactive sales and achieve budgeted goals within the MICE market through the strategic implementation of effective sales activities.
This role is ideal for a motivated candidate with previous experience in Conference & Events Sales and / or a proactive hotel sales role. Our Business Development Manager is responsible for the development and management of business relationships for the property with a particular focus on the MICE Market. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, energetic, ambitious and target driven. (Please note : this is a 12-month parental leave cover position)
Key Responsibilities (but not limited to) : Plan, implement and drive new sales initiatives across the MICE marketFocus on the development of new business opportunitiesMonitor market and competitor activity and carry out ongoing research to establish sales opportunitiesTo maintain and nurture existing core accounts and identify opportunities for incremental growth within these accountsPrepare and sign client documentation and general correspondence in conjunction with the DOSM.On occasion you might be required to work after hours.To be successful in this role, you must possess : Previous experience in a similar role or 5-Star hotel environment will be viewed favourablyWorking knowledge of Opera Cloud is advantageousThe ability to develop a close working relationship with the Sales, Marketing and wider Hotel teams to ensure the smooth operation of all sales activitiesSelf-motivated and possess outstanding personal and negotiation skillsExcellent grooming, presentation and communication skillsAustralian Working Rights You will be required to have ongoing working rights for this role.
